Viewing Blog Traffic with Google Analytics
by Abu Aisyah on Feb.04, 2010, under Ngoprek, my notes
Google is a popular search engine and yahoo is the main competitor. Google also has grown rapidly since a few years after the operation, from an ordinary search engines that the company now occupies can not be underestimated. Of an ordinary idea into an extraordinary result. It is also not separated from those who were behind google themselves, they are Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Now, besides the google search engine, also has penetrated into the email, browsers, chats, blogs, photos, social networking and so on. Even I did not know what else google products emerging now, after just yesterday issued googlewave. This time I will discuss the features provided by google for us as users of the weblog, one of them is google analytics.
My blog is using wordpress engine, for me wordpress is very powerful. Excellence wordpress is open source, of course, that could be easily customized. There can also easily edit the CSS, plugins there, and even set up widgets that blogs will be as you wish. You can see the various patches that I made. This all is the ease of wordpress. I’ve tried to multiply, I’ve tried to blogspot, but I have never felt better when I use wordpress. Until now I have not found a better engine than wordpress.
One that makes you happy is when your blog read by many people. Surely you will be pleased when you see the blog, read might even click your ads on your blog sidebar. Or when you market your product on the blog, there are people who read and are interested, then they buy your product. But it was not always that to happen, especially when we want to know if there are people who access our blog or not. How many people who have access to our blog, anyone, and from anywhere. When you are signed up on wordpress blog, you’ve got analytic wordpress free. This plugin is automatically installed on your wordpress engine. It’s really good if you want to see your blog traffic from this plugin, but you certainly want to try google analytics.
Google analytics is very awesome. First access to google analytics, and then register your blog there. Follow the instructions to get the authentication code and API key. This API key will be to use the google analyticator plugins. See the following picture:
Configuration is very easy, so I figured I should not tell you here. And make sure you installed plugin google analyticator.
Once you activate the list and google analytics, so just wait 24-48 hours. I need time between that can bring traffic to my blog. After that you will get results like graffic traffic below:
Or you want any country to access your blog, just select the Map Overlay.
Or want to know what browser and OS is accessing it, see in the browser and OS.
Simply complete than wordpress analyitics maybe even more. Surely google analytics can not work properly if your browser does not flash player plugin installed. So make sure it is installed first. Happy blogging and good luck!
